What happens in a credit repair consultation in Raleigh?
We read your reports with you and give you a straight answer about them. You call 832-344-9402, or ask us to call you, from anywhere in the city; there is no Raleigh office. The call is free and carries no obligation. No one is signed up during it, and nothing gets disputed until you have had time to read a written agreement and your rights.
- Your goal. A first home, a refinance, a car, an apartment, or just understanding a denial letter.
- Your reports. All three, downloaded free by you, usually from the same week.
- The sort. Each negative entry marked as accurate, possibly inaccurate, or possibly past its reporting period.
- The plan. What could be disputed, what you could dispute yourself, and what simply has to age.
- Your decision. Later, on your schedule, after reading the paperwork.
Why do Raleigh buyers care so much about report accuracy?
Because they are often financing a newer, pricier home. Raleigh's housing stock is young, with a median build year of 1997, and the median home value is $415,800. On a loan that size, the rate a lender offers matters a lot, and that rate depends partly on what the reports say. Incomes are solid and unemployment is low, so the file is frequently the deciding variable.

Example: a buyer relocating for work finds a medical collection on one report with a creditor name they do not recognize and a balance that does not match any bill they received. Before a mortgage application, they ask the bureau to verify it. The bureau must check with the company that reported it. This is a hypothetical case; what the bureau concludes is up to its investigation.
What happens after a dispute is sent?
The bureau has a set window to respond. It generally must finish a reasonable reinvestigation within 30 days of receiving the dispute, extendable by up to 15 days if you add information during that time. It also passes the dispute to the furnisher, which must investigate, review what you sent and report back. We read every response with you, item by item.
Not every answer will be the one you hoped for. A verified entry might be accurate, in which case it stays. If you still believe it is wrong, you can add a short statement to your file explaining why. Our guide to a credit report review shows what a well-supported dispute includes.
How many North Carolina consumers filed credit complaints?
In 2025 the CFPB received 173,573 complaints about credit reporting from North Carolina, and 10,863 about debt collection. Incorrect information was the most common complaint type at 102,224, with improper use of a report next at 39,298. The CFPB publishes these without verifying them, so they reflect what consumers alleged.

What we will not do on a consultation
We will not enroll you over the phone, take a payment on the call, or promise how a lender will treat your file. We will not suggest disputing a debt you agree is accurate. Under federal law, a credit repair company cannot be paid for a service before it is fully performed, and you can cancel any contract within three business days.
You might decide you do not need us at all, which is fine. The FTC says disputing mistakes on your report is free, and you can do it directly with each bureau. If debts rather than errors are the issue, our page on credit counseling and when it fits may be the better next step, and your rights under federal law are spelled out here.

Raleigh consultation questions
How long does a Raleigh credit repair consultation take?
Most calls run long enough to go through each negative line on your three reports, which depends on how many there are. A clean file with one question may take a short conversation; a file with several collections takes longer. Nothing is decided on the call. You get our read of your reports and decide later, in writing, whether to go further.
Do you serve Durham and Cary as well?
Yes. Because everything happens by phone, people in Durham, Cary and the rest of the Triangle work with us the same way Raleigh residents do. The bureaus keep one national file on you, so your town does not change how disputes are written or answered. The local numbers on this page describe Raleigh itself.
Will a consultation show up on my credit report?
No. We do not pull your credit during the call. You download your own reports from the bureaus, which you can do free each week. We simply read what you share with us and talk it through, so there is no inquiry from us.
What if your review finds nothing wrong?
Then we tell you that, and there is nothing to sell. An accurate report with late payments or high balances is not something disputes can change. In that case the honest advice is about time and habits: paying on schedule, lowering balances and letting older negatives age. You may also find our credit counseling page useful.
Can I bring a spouse or partner onto the call?
Yes, and it often helps when you are planning a joint mortgage. Each person has a separate file, so we look at both sets of reports, with each person's consent. Joint accounts should report the same way on both files. A shared card that shows differently on one spouse's report than the other's is a detail we would check.
Is the North Carolina complaint data a sign my report has errors?
No single number says anything about your file. The CFPB counts complaints it receives without confirming them, so a large state total only shows that many people believed something was wrong. Your own report is the only evidence that matters for you, which is why every consultation starts by reading it line by line.
Start with what is actually on your reports
The first conversation is free. We sort each account into possibly wrong, possibly unverifiable and accurate, and explain your options, including the free ones.
Not sure what your credit reports say?
A consultation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. We read the reports with you, point out entries that look wrong or unverifiable, and tell you which steps you can take on your own.
