How does credit repair in Atlanta work without a local office?
It works by phone and by paper. There is no Credit Professional Services office in Atlanta, so consultations happen on a call at 832-344-9402. You pull your free reports, we read them with you, and if you choose to go ahead, disputes go out in writing to the bureaus and the companies that furnished the data. Nothing about that process needs a desk in Georgia.
Atlanta skews young and educated. The median resident is 34.2 years old, and 59.2% of adults 25 and over hold a bachelor's degree or more. That combination usually means student loans, and student loans are where we find some of the most tangled entries on a report.

Why do student loans cause so many report errors?
One degree can produce several loan accounts, and loans can be moved from one servicer to another, with each move creating a fresh line on your report. Done correctly, the old line closes with no balance. Done carelessly, the same money appears twice, or a payment that landed during the handoff shows as 30 days late.
| What we see | Accurate or worth a dispute? |
|---|---|
| Old servicer closed, new servicer open, one balance | Accurate; it simply reflects the transfer |
| Both servicers reporting the full balance | Worth a dispute: the debt is counted twice |
| Late mark during an approved deferment | Worth a dispute, with the approval letter |
| Late marks with no deferment in place | Likely accurate, and it stays |
Example: a graduate's loans move from one servicer to another, and for two months both companies report the same balance. Lenders see double the student debt. A dispute with the transfer notice attached asks the old servicer to report a zero balance. This is a hypothetical case, and the outcome depends on what the servicer's records show.
Why does an accurate report matter so much with Atlanta home values?
Home values here are high enough that a small change in a mortgage rate means real money over the life of a loan. More than half of households rent, and half of those renters spend 30% or more of their income on housing. A clean, correct file helps on both sides: at a lender's desk and at a landlord's screening.

Georgia's complaint data points the same way. The CFPB received 383,998 credit reporting complaints from Georgia consumers in 2025, and 222,465 named incorrect information on a report. The agency does not verify these complaints before publishing them, so they show what people reported rather than confirmed errors.

How should you pick a credit repair company in Atlanta?
Start by asking what the company will refuse to do. Searches for "credit experts" or "credit repair pros" bring up plenty of names, and the honest ones explain your rights before they sell anything. Federal law says a credit repair organization may not take money for a service before it is fully performed. Our guide to what to ask before hiring a credit repair company lists more checks.
- Ask for the written notice of your rights, separate from the contract.
- Confirm you can cancel within three business days of signing.
- Ask how they decide what to dispute; "everything" is the wrong answer.
- Ask whether they tell you to contact the bureaus yourself. Honest firms do.
What we will not do for Atlanta clients
We will not file a dispute on a student loan, card or collection that you agree is yours and correctly reported, even if it hurts. We will not tell you to skip calling the bureaus, and we will not suggest applying under a different identification number. The law gives no one the right to strip accurate, current, verifiable information from a file, and we will not pretend it does.
You also do not need us to get started. The FTC notes that anything a credit repair company can legally do, you can do yourself for little or no cost, and each bureau lets you check your report once a week for free. If you would rather learn the steps first, our walk-through of how credit repair works covers them.

Atlanta credit repair questions
Do you have an office in Atlanta?
No. Credit Professional Services has no Atlanta office, and we do not pretend otherwise. Every Atlanta client works with us by phone, with documents sent by email or secure upload. Since the three bureaus are national and disputes are made in writing, a phone relationship covers everything an in-person visit would, without the drive across town.
My student loans moved to a new servicer. Is that a problem on my report?
It can be. A transfer often shows as one account closed and another opened for the same debt. That is normal, but trouble starts when both report a balance, or when a payment made during the switch is marked late. We line up both entries, check dates and balances, and dispute only the part that is wrong.
Is a deferment or forbearance supposed to show as late?
An approved deferment or forbearance should not appear as missed payments for those months. If your report shows late marks during a period you have paperwork for, that is a mismatch worth disputing with the servicer's approval letter attached. If no approval was in place, the late marks may be accurate, and we will tell you so.
What separates one credit repair company from another in Atlanta?
Look at what they ask of you before any work begins. A firm following federal law gives you a written notice of your rights, a contract you can cancel within three business days, and no bill before the service is done. Be wary of anyone promising specific results or urging you to dispute accurate debts.
Will paying down cards help more than disputing errors?
They do different jobs. Paying down balances changes how much of your available credit you use, which is real, accurate information. Disputing errors fixes entries that should not be there at all. Many Atlanta clients need some of each, and part of our review is telling you which one your own report calls for first.
How long until I hear back on an Atlanta dispute?
The bureau generally has 30 days from receiving your dispute to finish its investigation, and that window can stretch by up to 15 more days if you send new information during it. After the bureau answers, we go over the result with you and explain whether anything is left to challenge with fresh documents.
Start with what is actually on your reports
The first conversation is free. We sort each account into possibly wrong, possibly unverifiable and accurate, and explain your options, including the free ones.
Not sure what your credit reports say?
A consultation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. We read the reports with you, point out entries that look wrong or unverifiable, and tell you which steps you can take on your own.
